Montana Economic Opportunity (MEO) AmeriCorps VISTA Program
The Montana Economic Opportunity (MEO) AmeriCorps VISTA Program, hosted by Rural Dynamics, focuses on strengthening organizations and programs that bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Our goal is to strengthen three specific objectives within low-income communities: improving access to financial literacy, developing transitional plans and/or continuity strategies to keep low-income individuals in safe, affordable housing, and to improve employability among under and unemployed Montanans.
MEO’s AmeriCorps VISTA Program addresses poverty problems utilizing community partnerships, state-run programs, and nonprofit organizations. The program offers the opportunity to build sustainable infrastructure to address poverty issues and find economically secure solutions for the low-income populace by placing full-time VISTA members with community-based Host Sites throughout Montana.
What is AmeriCorps VISTA?
VISTA, or Volunteers in Service to America, is a national service program designed specifically to fight poverty. AmeriCorps VISTA members make a year-long commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency.
